About our Parks & Recreation Facilities

Richfield Township is the Area Leader in Quality Parks, Campground, and Marina Facilities, all of which are Handicap Accessible and Open to the Public. 

Park & Campground

Richfield Township Park & Saint Helen Campground

This is Richfield Township’s oldest and most beloved Park. Home to the Township Airport, 2 Ballfields, The Saint Helen Bluegill Festival, St. Helen Fireworks and The ORV Jamboree. We have new Bathroom Facilities, a Pavilion, Playground Equipment, Tennis and Basketball Courts, Horseshoe Pits, 121 Campground Sites (91 Rustic Sites and 30 Modern Water & Electric Sites).  

The Campground offers easy access to lake Saint Helen for water activities, party stores, gasoline and restaurants. The Campground also has direct access to the ORV trails from the campsites. This is a one stop summer fun park.

Reservations

Reservations accepted reservations are accepted up to 6 months in advance – The Campground is open from April 1st to October 31st with both Rustic and Modern Campsites. Nov. 1st to March 31st Modern (Electric) Sites Only Available!         

Rates

RatesaModern Sites are $45 a night which includes electric (20,30 and 50 amp hook up) & water (No water Hook-up in the Winter Season).  Rustic Sites are $25 a night. Prices are subject to change.

Modern Sites

20,30- & 50-amp Electrical Box. The Electrical Box is shared with the camper behind you. It is recommended that you bring an adapter if one plug is being used.

Historic Cove & Township Marina

Cove & Marina

The Cove Park has been a staple of the Saint Helen community since the 1950’s. Formerly known as Carter’s Cove, It was purchased by the Township for Public use in 2014.  It sits on beautiful Lake Saint Helen and has a large beach area for people to use.

There is also large areas of green space for people just to enjoy in the Spring, Summer, and Fall. There is plenty of parking. In 2016 the township also installed a large Marina for even more access to the lake for Residents and Visitors alike. This park is open dawn to dusk and is closed in the winter. 

Dock Fees & Availability

The price for a season is $700 for a dock spot and the location is lighted and has its own parking area separate from the beach area. For Dock spot availability call Richfield Township in December at 989-389-4994 EXT. 5.

Lake Saint Helen Beach, Kayak Launch & Fishing Pier

Lake Saint Helen Access Site

The Boat Access Site was leased from the DNR in 2010.  This area is one of the area’s best for active individuals that just can’t get enough of the water. A boat launch site is available to get your boat out onto Lake Saint Helen, a huge parking area for people with boat trailers, a smaller beach area for those that just want a quick swim or just a taste of the water, a walking area for priceless views of the lake, and the new Lake Saint Helen Fishing Pier and Handicap Accessible Kayak launch. All of these wonderful perks make this a great location for a few fun hours or a long day out on our 2400 acre all sports lake. 

Boat Launch

  • The Boat Launch provides Two docks for launching boats.
  • Boat Launch Passes are available for $20 per year and are available at the Richfield Township Hall.
  • Registration / Pay envelopes are also available at the access site, along with a pay tube.
  • Yearly passes will be mailed to the address provided to the township on the registration form.

Garden Pathways Parks

Saint Helen Garden Pathways Parks

Started in 2017, Saint Helen Garden Pathways Park is the latest park added to our township’s wonderful parks system. Also known as the Community Garden Park, it is located at 2490 North St. Helen Road at the North end of Downtown Saint Helen. This park is complete with multiple raised growing beds, walking paths (also groomed for cross country skiing), butterfly garden, multiple fruit patches and a small orchard. Everything grown in the garden is available for free to the public at any time. The friends of St. Helen Garden Pathways Park (FSHGPP) nonprofit 501(c)3 is always in need and looking for volunteers.
